Geography

Includes the peninsula Jutland and approx. 500 island (100 inhabited) including Bornholm in the Baltic, Zealand, Funen and Lolland-Falster.

 

The coastline is 7.300 km. The landscape is flat and cultivated, sand dunes and bays on the West Coast and long fjords on the East Coast.

 

The main land is Jutland, but Copenhagen on Zealand is the power house of the country. Greenland and the Faroe Islands are both a part of "Rigsfællesskabet" (the Community of the Realm), but are home-ruled and are represented in Folketinget (the Danish Parliament) with a total of 4 members.
