| 1920 | After World War I, North Schleswig is reunited with Denmark after a vote |

| 1953 | The 5th of June, Denmark's second constitution, which is valid today, is approved |
| 1972 | King Frederik IX dies, and Margrethe II is inaugurated |

| 1993 | Denmark accedes the Maastricht Treaty and changes in the EU |
| 1996 | Bjarne Riis wins the Tour de France |
| 1997 | The Great Belt Bridge is opened on the 1st of June |
