The coastal area in the southern part of the region, between Frederikshavn and Hals, is characterised by flat sandy beaches with low sand dunes and the water is fairly shallow. The city of Aalborg is only a 30 minute drive away and has a lot to see and discover: Tivoliland, zoo, nautical museum, casino and "Jomfru Ane gade" with its restaurants, bars and night clubs.

In this area, most holiday homes are sheltered by trees. In the whole region it is also possible to practise different sports and leisure activities such as surfing, golf, horseback riding and all sorts of fishing.
