Due to their pleasant temperament, the horses are very family friendly and are very famous outside Iceland.

In the winter the day time in Reykjavik only lasts for 4½ hours. In Isafjördur the sun is only up for 3 hours, but during the summer the sun is shinning for 20 to 24 hours a day. In the northern part of the country, especially on the island of Grimsey, the midnight sun can be experienced, if the weather gods allow it. Unfortunately the midnight sun does not warm that much, so warm clothes are recommended.
