Well known and lesser known holiday destinations in Italy
Some Italian regions, such as Tuscany, are more well known among tourists than others. In Tuscany you find beautiful nature, wineyard, olive groves, cypresses, old monasteries and medieval fortified villages. Tuscany is the birthplace of art at all times, from the Etruscan era to the Renaissance and you are able to find villages and towns with a uninterrupted history of 30 centuries - towns which were capitals, while modern European cities only were insignificant villages.
Also Liguria, better known as the Italian Riviera, is known for its lovely beaches, beautiful mountains, beach promenades surrounded by palm trees, agaves and eucalyptus, as well as a wide variety of fragrant and colourful flowers. The Adriatic coast is well known for its child friendly beaches, shady pine groves, the sound of singing cicadas, lively beachfront cities with loads of restaurants, bars, discotheques and tempting boutiques and last but not least, the city of gondols, Venice. The southern part of Italy offers fantastic sunsets, lemon tree groves and places such as Amalfi, Capri and Sorrento, which are world famous for their unique panoramic views.
