Well-marked hiking trails with views of a magnificent mountain panorama invite you to go hiking, biking as well as horseback riding or carriage rides. Take discovery trips to Erfurt, Eisennach and Weimar as well as to the Goethe and university town Ilmenau.

Also worthwhile are the Coburg region, the glass-blowing town of Lauscha and the toy town of Sonneberg. The immediate vicinity has cultural and historical sights in store for you.
